Types - Comparison
Below is a comparison of the different innovation types with regard to the ordinal scale above. It is interesting to note that at one end of the scale is incremental innovation and at the other end is Radical Innovation. This is consistent with Oloffson’s contention that all innovation is “more or less radical”. In fact one could use this scale to determine how radical an innovation is. An innovation which scored 5 on all dimensions would be considered very radical, while an innovation that scored 0 on most dimensions would probably be a simple product improvement.
